Press Release: Substantial - You've Grown ft. MLLN

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Veteran Hip Hop artist Substantial releases moving tribute to wife and sister with ‘You’ve Grown’

Friday, February 17, 2023 (Alexandria, VA) — International Hip-Hop recording artist, Substantial is pleased to announce his latest single, You’ve Grown.” The track features R&B vocalist MLLN who contributes a soulful melodic tapestry against Substantial’s three-quarter note flow and sincere lyrics. “You've Grown” featuring MLLN will be Substantial’s third single from his upcoming album Adultish due to release in April.

“You’ve Grown” was made to pay homage and celebrate the growth and perseverance of your loved ones. The first verse honors Substantial's wife and business partner, Rachelle's creative journey, and the second verse is a tribute to his sister Lisa and her many accomplishments in spite of experiencing adversity and hardship. "I wrote this song to honor these two special women in my life. My hope is that this song finds listeners who have someone in their life to celebrate who is equally inspiring to them," says Substantial.

“You've Grown” is written and produced by Substantial, with Jonathan Smalls on bass and additional synth provided by Tonedeff (QN5/QUINTIC), who also mixed and mastered the project. “You've Grown” drops today on Bandcamp and on all digital streaming platforms on Friday, February 24th.

[CLIENT] Meet W3alth

W3alth Profile Pic.jpg

Our most recent client W3alth, is a Houston based rapper and DC native. W3alth is an up-and-coming artist scheduled to release his debut EP, Bridges on July 26, 2019.  W3alth came to us for music production, design, and marketing services. The EP is produced entirely by Substantial, veteran, Lofi Hip-Hop MC, producer and SAM founder & co-CEO.

W3alth released his first single, 17 & Oh on June 28, 2019. The track encompasses confidence and perseverance as W3alth proclaims, “No man stops me, gotta have an army”, over a sleek organ sample, hard hitting drums and pounding bass.

17 & Oh, a song by W3alth, Substantial on Spotify

92 Baby, a song by W3alth, Substantial, Alyxa on Spotify

His second single, 92 Baby is his latest effort, where we find W3alth sounding very comfortable juggling flows and bars over a dirty, chopped piano loop while Paris based songstress, Alxya lends her melodic voice to the chorus. 92 Baby serves as an anthem for anyone that shares the birth year, while providing nostalgic vibes of golden era Hip-Hop with a modern twist. The cover art features a photo from 1992 of a 13 year old Substantial, carrying his nephew, W3alth who was only a few months old at the time.  The title Bridges is inspired by their observation of the ongoing disconnect between the young and older generation of Hip-Hop artists. Youthful swag with a golden era feel.

With our assistance, W3alth has seen an increase of 17,500+ in listeners, 24,000+ in streams and and 23% increase in followers on Spotify since June 2019.

Additionally, the 92 Baby single was recently featured on Spotify's Lofi Hip-Hop playlist.
